Alisa Vasquez is a storyteller, community builder, and fitness enthusiast! Her love for storytelling began in high school when she co-anchored “Blue and Gold Television,” her school’s weekly news broadcast. Alisa continued to pursue her passions at Penn State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and African American Studies.
Since then Alisa has built a dynamic career in strategic communications, working with entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico, project managing virtual events for the Law Office of Kristyan Rose Gilmore, creating and hosting career development seminars for Unlock Your Story and working for Tim Adams, the first African American Mayor for Bowie, Maryland. Most recently, Alisa worked as a publicist for ABC News and The Washington Post.
Her passion for people, and commitment to women empowerment also led her to create her own digital platform for career-driven women of faith called Cool Christian Girlz, and she has partnered with Girls on the Run and UNIQUE Learning Center to help equip young leaders for success.
In her free time she loves taking pilates classes, exploring new coffee shops in the District, and singing the national anthem at local events.
